however i wanted to get a new type of companion.
I am aware of the new epidemic going around,
where senseless owners who buy wolfdogs end up giving them away or having them destroyed.
According to what I have looked up they do this because they want to look tough or scare others,
not knowing that in nature a wolf is shy towards people.
research shows a wolf dog is more dangerous and confused. you have a domestic animal mixed with a wild one. however if you know what your doing and learn respect the wolf dog can be a good pet. (as long as you have a giant yard and patience(check) and the knowledge of the wolfs body language)
They....are.....gorgeous? They look exactly like the wolf except they have no ruff, unless you get a long haired one(rare)
however its kind of hard to get one. Understand that they themselves are not wolf mixed, they are all dog. they were recently introduced to america in 2005 and the fist litter was in 2007.
however i seem to want more of a challenge.
I am honestly not sure i should say the wolf is easier than the wolf dog. however the risk is slightly off. i expect that you would have to treat them with the same respect. you cant just expect to walk the once, you have to bond by roaming. would rather a wolf than a wolf dog but their are soooooo many licence issues that come into play. besides im about to move to Georgia. (turns out i have a family member who's friends with a lady who owns and breeds wolves. (soooo would not want trouble from the law if they caught me with one XD without a license)
Everyone has their own opinion, im intrested in yours.
